Inverclyde win for Labour
The Scottish Labour party has said that its win in the Inverclyde by-election marks the start of its recovery after the Holyrood election.
Iain McKenzie won with just over 15,000 votes but Labour's majority over the SNP was cut by more than half compared to last year's general election.
The Conservatives were third and the Liberal Democrats came fourth, losing their deposit.
