Clearing advice for students

Months of waiting for thousands of pupils is nearly over with the Higher results due out this week.

For those who will be trying to secure a late place at a Scottish university the outlook is bleak.

Admissions officers in Scotland say they have few or no spaces for "clearing" which is the official system which matches students with remaining places.
