Neil Lennon assault man sentenced

A football fan cleared of a sectarian assault against Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been sentenced to eight months in jail for breach of the peace.

John Wilson invaded the pitch, shouted and swore at Neil Lennon during the Hearts and Celtic match in Edinburgh in May this year.

At the end of the trial last month the jury found the second charge of religiously aggravated assault not proven.

The 26-year-old has already served half of the sentence imposed.
