Restoration scheme gives addicts hope

The work of an unusual project to help recovering alcoholics and drug addicts kick their habits will be showcased in an old bus garage in Bridgeton, Glasgow.

The "Back on the Road" scheme asks people to volunteer to restore a collection of historic corporation buses.

The trust, which runs the collection, works with drug and alcohol agencies taking up to 20 addicts at a time.

The programme has been hailed a success for helping many of them back into full-time work.
