Pets 'not wanted' at homeless hostels

Homeless people are ending up on the streets because too few hostels provide accommodation for people with pets, an animal charity has warned.

One Kind has said a lack of suitable accommodation means vulnerable people are being forced to choose between sleeping rough or abandoning their dogs or cats.

Vets say owning a pet can be beneficial for people attempting to cope with the emotional turmoil of being homeless.
