How your letters arrive on time

More than 10 million items of post will be processed in Scotland on the Royal Mail's busiest day, with five million pieces in Glasgow's main sorting office alone.

Royal Mail has hired an additional 2,000 temporary staff to help deal with demand.

Alan Gairns, collection and delivery director Scotland for Royal Mail, said people needed to be aware of the final posting dates before Christmas.
