Plan to tackle River Nith floods
A plan to prevent flooding in a notorious flooding blackspot in Scotland has been agreed.
The River Nith overflows onto the Whitesands area of Dumfries with increasing regularity.
Fed-up business owners have been demanding action for years.
Dumfries and Galloway Council have asked for more details on a proposal to build a flood wall along the river bank.
The plan could be part of a bigger project to regenerate the waterfront.
