Weather forecast for Scotland

The stormy winds will ease but will continue to to stay strong to gale force with severe gales through north east Aberdeenshire.

Heavy rain showers will continue for many with significant snow over the higher ground of Grampian and Highland.

The Met Office have said the high winds will ease and move eastwards but are still expected to reach 60 miles per hour this evening.

The Office has issued an amber warning for winds across the country and for snow on the highest ground this afternoon.
