Storms of 100mph inflict damage across Scotland
Violent storm-force winds wreaked havoc across central Scotland. Edinburgh recorded the highest winds at more than 100mph.
Buildings were damaged and travel was severely disrupted, with all of the main bridges closed, rail services cancelled and flights and ferries also affected.
The police and fire services were inundated with calls as people reported structural damage to homes and buildings and fallen trees blocked roads and rail routes.
