Thinking caps on for Royal Mile improvement plan
Edinburgh City Council is bringing about 100 residents and local businesses together to draw up a plan to improve the Royal Mile.
The city council believes tourists should have a better visitor experience and it has identified several areas for improvement.
They will look at the pedestrian experience, the shopping on the Royal Mile and its day-to-day management.
The Cockburn Association, the city's architectural watchdog, has said the conference must be more than a talking shop if the street's future is to be safeguarded.
