Jewel thief steals gems from Glasgow auction house McTear's
Police are hunting a thief who staged a raid on a Glasgow auction house and made off with jewellery worth nearly £500,000.
Members of the public and those in the jewellery industry have been urged to contact detectives if they are offered any of the stolen items for sale.
More than 300 pieces of women's jewellery - mainly rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces - were taken from the safe at McTear's on Tuesday.
Police said one of the robbers wore a hi-visibility jacket to enter the premises.
