Charities bid for estate where William Wallace hid
Two conservation charities are hoping to raise more than £1m to allow them to buy a vast tract of ground in the Borders.
The Talla and Gameshope estate was once a stronghold for William Wallace and a battle ground for the Border Reivers.
The John Muir Trust and the Borders Forest Trust are in a desperate race against time. They have 10 days to secure pledges of support.
