Arran could be without mains electricity until next week

Residents in parts of Scotland have been warned that they may be without power for up to three days.

A blackout on Arran island followed heavy snowfalls, which resulted in dozens of schools being closed.

A total of 14,000 people across the country were left without power at some stage, including 10,000 homes in Argyll.

Steven Godden reports.
