Woolly warriors tackle giant hogweed

A new weapon is being tested in the battle against a dangerous alien plant in Aberdeenshire.

Sheep are being used in a pilot project to limit the growth of giant hogweed.

The plant spreads at aggressive rates. The toxic sap attacks the skin and can cause severe burns.

The scheme beside the River Deveron has been funded by Scottish Natural Heritage as an alternative to chemical spraying.
