Scottish court closures 'neglect witness safety'

Rothesay sheriff court has had one of its last sittings.

The court is one of ten that have been earmarked for closure by the Scottish Courts Service as a cost-cutting measure.

Closure of the Rothesay court has proved highly controversial with campaigners who say the security implications of transferring cases to Greenock have been ignored.

The move to Greenock means witnesses and the accused could potentially be on the same ferry and train journey.
