Police Scotland gets tough on festive housebreakers
Police Scotland has announced a crackdown on housebreaking over the festive period.
Measures will include tougher sentences of up to five years in prison for those prosecuted and the creation of new police teams to tackle the problem.
Most offenders currently receive sentences of less than a year.
