Scottish independence: Alex Salmond's speech on currency
First Minister Alex Salmond is setting out the reasons why he believes a currency union would be the best option for an independent Scotland.
Mr Salmond is expected to give a point-by-point deconstruction of Chancellor George Osborne's speech on Scotland's currency during his speech to business leaders in Aberdeen.
Mr Osborne said last week that a vote for Scottish independence would mean walking away from the pound, a stance which was backed by Labour and the Liberal Democrats.
