Scottish independence: Obama's interest in a 'united' UK

The president of the United States has told the G7 summit in Brussels that the US has a "deep interest" in making sure the UK remains a "strong, robust, united and effective partner".

Barack Obama made the remarks at a joint news conference alongside David Cameron in Brussels, when he stressed the decision on independence was up to the people of Scotland.
