Glasgow 2014: Opening ceremony celebrates Scottish life

The 2014 Commonwealth Games have officially opened at a ceremony in the Scottish city of Glasgow.

Thousands of athletes from 71 countries and territories paraded around Celtic Park in front of a 40,000-strong crowd.

They were seen by a global TV audience estimated at around a billion people.
