MSP tribute to 'Little Willie Rennie'

Deputy Scottish Conservative leader Jackson Carlaw has made light of the gender balance among Scotland's party leaders.

His comments came after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced her new cabinet had an equal number of men and women.

As well as Ms Sturgeon, who leads the SNP, the Tories are led by Ruth Davidson, while Jackie Baillie is leading for Labour while the party seeks a new leader.

Willie Rennie is the Scottish Liberal Democrat leader.

Speaking as MSPs were asked to approve the new Scottish ministerial line-up, Mr Carlaw said: "In a backhanded compliment to that huge Hollywood blockbuster, Three Men and a Little Lady, this parliament is now fronted by three ladies and a little Willie . . . Rennie."
