Scientists use protein to replace fat in lower-fat food

With the average person consuming an extra 500 calories a day over Christmas and the New Year, one company claims to have found a way to prevent people piling on the pounds in future.

A spin-off company from Herriot Watt University has developed a healthy substitute for fat which can be used to produce lower fat cakes.

BBC Scotland's health correspondent Eleanor Bradford took up the challenge of tasting the end result.
