First Scots mother and daughter receive New Year Honours

The first mother and daughter in Scotland have been recognised together in the Queen's New Year Honours list.

Mairi O'Keefe received an MBE for her work in saving the charity Leuchie House after its funding was withdrawn.

Her 93-year-old mother Catriona MacKinnon has been awarded a British Empire Medal for her services to the Gaelic language.
