Flood defence plan unveiled in Dumfries

The River Nith's proximity to the White Sands area of Dumfries has made the area one of the worst in Scotland for flooding.

A flood defence plan to protect the area has caused controversy with campaigners saying it would detract from the town.

Some local business owners are opposed to the embankment that would act as a barrier, saying the impeded view of the river would put people off visiting the area.

BBC Scotland's Willie Johnston reports, as Dumfries and Galloway Council unveil a life-size model to show how it would look.
