Highland Council considers tablets for all pupils
Highland Council has said it may give a tablet to each child in its schools.
The local education authority says there is evidence that using tablets in school can enhance a child's academic performance and also reduce the need to buy textbooks.
A pilot project at Alness Academy, where pupils had been using iPads, found that pupils had become more engaged and had been producing better work.
