Arran diver receives prestigious environmental award
A diver from the Isle of Arran is to receive one of the world's most prestigious environmental awards in recognition of his work to protect the island's marine environment.
Howard Wood will collect the Goldman Environmental Prize at a ceremony in San Francisco.
Mr Wood co-founded the Community of Arran Seabed Trust and helped create Scotland's first no-take zone in Lamlash Bay, allowing the seabed to recover from damage caused by scallop dredging.
BBC Scotland's environment correspondent David Miller reports.
