Nicola Sturgeon: 'Stewart's been a great deputy leader'

Nicola Sturgeon has said MP Stewart Hosie is "making the right decision" to stand down as deputy leader of the SNP.

Speaking in London, the SNP leader also said she was sorry to see Hosie step down.

The Dundee East MP announced on Sunday that he will relinquish his post, in the autumn, after reports of an affair with a Westminster journalist. He and his wife, Scottish Health Secretary Shona Robison, have separated.

Mr Hosie will remain as MP for Dundee East and deputy leader of the SNP group at Westminster.
