World War One Remembered: The Battle of Jutland

Commemoration events are being held to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Jutland.

A ceremony in St Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall, will be followed by a ceremony at Lyness Royal Naval Cemetery in Hoy where Commonwealth servicemen and German sailors from World War One are buried, some as young as 16.

Prime Minister David Cameron, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, Princess Anne, the German President Joachim Gauck and other dignitaries from the Commonwealth will attend the events.
