The Leopard Man of Skye dies in Inverness

The most tattooed pensioner in the UK, who had lived as a recluse in Skye, has died in an Inverness care home.

Former soldier Tom Leppard had lived in a self-built bothy, with no electricity or furniture, near Kyleakin for 20 years.

In 2008 the Guinness World Record holder for most tattooed male senior citizen, who had 99.9% of his skin covered in cat-like design, decided to move into a house in Broadford.

He told BBC Scotland at the time that he was "getting too old for that kind of life".
