North Lanarkshire Council to build extra 1,000 new homes

North Lanarkshire Council have unveiled plans which will see an additional 1,000 new council homes built over the next 10 years.

It is thought to be the biggest development of its kind for decades.

But housing campaigners say it is only a small step to tackling the shortage of affordable housing.
