Opening stage of Tour of Britain begins in Glasgow

Riders, including Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish, set off from Glasgow on the first stage of the Tour of Britain.

The opening stage of the week-long event is the only one in Scotland.

The Grand Depart saw cyclists rolling out of Glasgow's George Square before doing a circuit of the city.

They headed south, taking in Kilmarnock, Auchinleck, Cumnock and Dalmellington and finishing in Castle Douglas.
