New Royal Navy frigate named HMS Glasgow

The first of eight new Royal Navy Type 26 frigates has been named HMS Glasgow.

Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon cut the first steel on the first of three anti-submarine frigates which will be built at BAE Systems shipyard on the Clyde.

The UK government has said the construction programme will safeguard hundreds of skilled jobs until 2035.
