Scotland's history with homosexuality: the long wait

Homosexuality was illegal in Scotland until 1980, 13 years after decriminalisation in England and Wales.

Dr Gayle Davis of the University of Edinburgh co-authored a book on Scotland's attitudes to sexuality in the period 1950 to 1980.

She explains why the country lagged behind other parts of the UK with making homosexuality legal between two men under 21 years old.
