Oban High School pupil plays the bagpipes on flight

A talented young student performed an impromptu gig in the sky after being asked to play the bagpipes on a flight to New York.

Gregor MacDonald, 13, was flying with fellow students and staff from Oban High School to the Big Apple to take part in the Annual Tartan Day Parade when he was asked by a stewardess to provide the entertainment.

Gregor was more than happy to meet the request, delighting a busy cabin with his tunes.

A spokesman for the high school said: "Gregor has been playing pipes from a young age and eats, sleeps and breathes pipes! He's taught by world champion Angus MacColl who tutors all the children in Oban High School Pipe Band".
