Scottish independence: Rifkind says 'let's begin debate'
Former Scottish Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind said he believed it was now time to debate the serious issues of the forthcoming Scottish independence referendum.
The Tory politician told BBC Radio Scotland's Good Morning Scotland programme: "By bringing this issue to the fore, we have at long last begun the serious debate on actually what are the implications of breaking up the United Kingdom and creating a separate Scottish state."
