Kirsty Williams says Lib Dems in good heart despite tough times
The Liberal Democrat annual party conference has begun in Brighton and leader Nick Clegg and the party's four other cabinet ministers will be making headline speeches.
The leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Kirsty Williams tells Vaughan Roderick these were difficult times for the party, but it was still signing up new members on the doorsteps and was at its strongest when out campaigning.
She said the UK government faced tough decisions but was getting on with the job, while the party could not get it all its own way in a coalition.
"The country needs politicians to put differences aside to try to work to get the country out of the worst recession it has seen for decades," she told the Sunday Supplement programme.
