Cardiff Airport: Alun Cairns MP sees 'no need' for Welsh government to buy it

A Conservative MP has accused the first minister of being "disingenuous" over a Welsh government plan to buy Cardiff Airport.

It hopes to complete the purchase in the next few months and if the deal goes ahead, the airport will be run on a commercial basis by an independent operator.

Oliver Hides spoke to Peter Philips, former head of marketing and communications at Cardiff Airport, and to Alun Cairns, Conservative MP for the Vale of Glamorgan.

Mr Cairns said Carwyn Jones could support the airport without having to take it into the public sector.
