President Obama nominates Louise Kelton from Cardiff as US marshal
A woman from Cardiff has been nominated by President Obama to become a US marshal.
Louise Kelton, 57, grew up in Cardiff Bay and lived in Wales until she was 23.
The post of US marshal is the oldest federal law enforcement office in America, and has provided a rich inspiration for rugged movie actors from John Wayne in True Grit to Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive.
Ms Kelton is one of only five women currently serving in the position and only the second black woman in the history of the service.
Nelli Bird spoke to Ms Kelton on BBC Radio Wales' Good Evening Wales and began by asking her about her responsibilities.
