Compassion is key to patient care, says Welsh NHS boss

Kindness and compassion cost nothing and must come hand in hand with meeting hospital targets, according to Helen Birtwhistle, director of the Welsh NHS Confederation which represents health boards and trusts in Wales.

She was speaking to Bethan Rhys Roberts on BBC Radio Wales about the lessons that can be learned from the public inquiry into the neglect of hundreds of patients at Stafford Hospital.
