Horsemeat scandal: Farmers 'annoyed and frustrated'

A former president of the National Farmers' Union in Wales has said farmers are annoyed and frustrated at hearing of the horsemeat disclosures because they have to "jump hoops" in beef production to ensure high standards.

It comes after a meat firm near Aberystwyth was raided by officials from the Food Standards Agency.

Horse carcasses sent to Farmbox Meats Ltd, of Llandre, were alleged to have been sold on as beef for kebabs and burgers.

Dai Davies, chairman of Meat Promotion Wales, spoke to Oliver Hides and hoped some positives would emerge.
