Health boards in Wales 'fail to plan budgets,' report claims
Local health boards across Wales are failing to plan their budgets effectively, leading to an over-reliance on bailouts from the Welsh government, a report claims.
The National Assembly's Public Accounts Committee says some health boards in Wales start the financial year without a plan to break even and some produced savings targets without a realistic strategy to achieve them.
Aled Roberts, a Liberal Democrat member of the committee, told Huw Thomas on BBC Radio Wales they were surprised at the apparent lack of planning.
