WWF Earth Hour: Landmarks in Wales switching off

Landmarks across Wales will have their lights turned off for an hour as part of an annual event which aims to encourage people to protect the planet.

Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth and Venue Cymru in Llandudno will all switch off, joining other famous buildings around the world.

Earth Hour has been organised by environmental and conservation charity WWF and takes place at 20:30 local time on Saturday.

Anne Meikle, head of WWF Cymru, told BBC Radio Wales' Peter Johnson that those taking part were being challenged to come up with ideas about what to do in the dark.
