Wales NHS: Prof Derek Gallen claims medic training will improve

A leading medical professor is supporting plans to reorganise hospital services in south Wales.

As Cardiff University's Postgraduate Dean of Medical and Dental Education, Prof Derek Gallen is head of the body responsible for doctors training in Wales.

He told Nelli Bird of BBC Radio Wales that concentrating specialist services in fewer hospitals will attract better staff and ensure medical students get the quality of training they need.
