BMX track 'closed to the public' two years after it opened

A BMX track in the south Wales valleys which opened in 2011 as an Olympic legacy project is mostly closed due to lack of insurance.

The £350,000 facility in Maesteg, near Bridgend, was built with EU, Welsh government and local authority cash.

A BMX group with its own insurance uses the site three times a week but the track stays shut the rest of the time.

Joanna Humphreys reports.
