Nairobi attack: Cardiff woman hid in Westgate mall before escaping

A man from Cardiff has told how his wife hid in a supermarket at Nairobi's Westgate shopping centre while militants stormed the mall.

Hasina Kaderbhai, who was in Kenya visiting family, cowered next to a lift door with two friends and two children for an hour-and-a-half before managing to escape unharmed.

Husband Latif Kaderbhai, who had remained in Cardiff, said his wife called him afterwards and said it had been "terrifying".

Militants attacked the mall on Saturday, killing at least 67 people including six British nationals.

Mr Kaderbhai spoke to Bethan Rhys Roberts.
