Public hearing into Haverfordwest castle land

A public hearing is due to open which will determine the future of land at Haverfordwest castle.

It is a medieval ruin which, for many people, symbolises the county town of Pembrokeshire.

The town council wants the site to be awarded village green status so it can remain open to the public for generations to come.

However, the county council is against that saying it would inhibit future options, including any potential development of the site which might benefit the town economically.

BBC Radio Wales' Pembrokeshire reporter Sarah Moore reports.
