School rugby concussion lessons pledge by minister

Education Minister Huw Lewis says he will take immediate steps to help children understand the dangers of suffering concussion.

He spoke after meeting the father of a schoolboy from Northern Ireland who died in hospital after a series of high-impact collisions during a rugby match.

Peter Robinson previously met ministers in Scotland and Northern Ireland and wants to make it compulsory for schools in in Wales to teach children about the dangers of a bang to the head.

BBC Wales has been speaking to Mr Robinson and to Dafydd Ffrancis, a PE teacher at Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
