Kidney donations highest in Cardiff, research finds

Cardiff is the most charitable region in the UK when it comes to kidney donation after death, according to research.

A study by the University of Cambridge at critical care units across Britain highlights the variations in the rates of people donating their kidneys.

Last year 373 people died while on the waiting list for a transplant.

Dominic Summers from the Department of Surgery at the University of Cambridge, is the author of the report.

He explained the aims of the work to Felicity Evans on BBC Radio Wales.
