Labour's 'devolution batteries' have run out, says ex Tory leader

The former leader of the Welsh Conservatives has said Labour's "devolution batteries" at Westminster have run out.

Lord Nick Bourne's comments come as a senior Labour figure has denied the party is inconsistent in its views on devolving power over income tax.

Shadow Welsh Secretary Owen Smith said claims of a Labour split were "desperate" and the idea its support for devolution had waned "nonsense".

The Welsh government said its commitment to "furthering" Welsh devolution was "indisputable".

Lord Bourne, member of the Silk Commission, spoke to Vaughan Roderick.
