Police ready for protests at Newport Nato summit

The man in charge of policing the Nato summit in Newport next month has said officers are ready to deal with any protests if they happen.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Armitt said security was being tightened across south Wales and 9,000 police officers from 29 police forces are being drafted in.

World leaders including US president Barack Obama will attend the event at the Celtic Manor Resort from September 4-5.
