World War One rugby roll of honour: Fred Perrett

There were 13 Welsh rugby internationals who lost their lives in World War One. But who were they?

Fred Perrett was born 1891 in Briton Ferry and the steelworker played for Neath before turning professional with the Leeds rugby league club in what was then called "the northern Union".

He became a second lieutenant in the Welsh Guards and later the Royal Welch Fusiliers. He died of wounds a few weeks after the end of the war in December 1918, aged 27.

Rugby historian Gwyn Prescott talks about his career and war service.
